With the 2008 Democratic National Convention just 60 days away and excitement continuing to build throughout the state and region, the Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC), in partnership with Colorado Governor Bill Ritter, Jr. and Kansas Governor and Convention Co-Chair Kathleen Sebelius, today announced a “Convention Captains” program inviting community leaders statewide to engage residents throughout Colorado in this historic regional opportunity. Local activists selected as Convention Captains will encourage residents to participate in the Convention by coordinating watch parties, service projects and other community events.

In Convention First, 2008 Democratic National Convention To Be Simulcast In Spanish
In keeping with its commitment to make the 2008 Democratic National Convention the most accessible and technologically-savvy event of its kind, the Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) announced today that Comcast Corporation will produce simultaneous, online streaming coverage of the Convention in Spanish at DemConvention.com and make available a broad range of Convention content through its signature On Demand service. The DNCC also announced that Comcast has been named the Convention’s Official Cable Television and Video-On-Demand (VOD) provider.

Hundreds of volunteers from the staff of the Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC), local credit unions, the Colorado Building Trades Council and the National Journal Group gathered today for the start of a three-day "Build Brigade" to construct a new home for severely injured Iraq war veteran Staff Sergeant Travis Strong and his family. Volunteers will spend the weekend building the home from the foundation to "weather tight" by Sunday.

After travelling more than 3,500 miles and visiting eight different cities throughout the Rocky Mountain West, the Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) completed its series of “Convention Conversations” community forums with back-to-back events this week in downtown Denver. In a continued effort to make the 2008 Democratic National Convention the most inclusive and engaging in history, DNCC CEO Leah D. 2008 Democratic National Convention Delegate Event To Recognize The Spirit Of New Orleans
In an effort to drive national recognition of the ongoing, important work to rebuild the Gulf Coast region in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) announced today a special event for delegates to the 2008 Democratic National Convention in recognition of the Friends of New Orleans (FONO), Oxfam America and other organizations affiliated with the Gulf Coast recovery and rebuilding effort.
