Andrea Robinson

Andrea Robinson
Director, Sustainability & Greening

Andrea is the first person to ever hold the position of “Director of Greening” for the DNCC and began creating the sustainability plan in September 2007.  She is responsible for constructing, developing, and managing the sustainability and greening efforts for the 2008 Democratic National Convention.

Andrea works with all DNCC Convention venues, departments, construction and production teams to adopt and implement environmentally responsible practices in all aspects of the convention planning and restoration phases. She serves as the Co-Chair of the Denver Mayors Energy Task Force and Denver Mayors Waste Minimization Task Force and works closely with the City of Denver and DNCC venues to create a long-term legacy of sustainability in Denver before, during and after the Convention.

With more than 25 years in the environmental field, Ms. Robinson has a long history of greening large scale events, developing corporate sustainability practices, championing renewable energy, endangered species & habitat protection issues for political campaigns and creating waste diversion and reduction programs. Most recently, Robinson managed the greening of the New York, Shanghai and Johannesburg venues for Vice President Al Gore's Live Earth Concerts for the Climate Crisis, the largest musical event in world history. At Live Earth, she also single-handedly built and managed relationships with over 650 international non-profit, intergovernmental and civil society organizations focused on solving the climate crisis. She has worked extensively with a variety of environmental non-profit organizations, including the Sierra Club and Environment Colorado.  Ms. Robinson received her degree in Environmental Science from University of California at Santa Barbara with an honors thesis on Biodiversity and the United Nations Earth Summit.

Jaime Nack
Director of Sustainability & Greening Operations

Jaime joined the DNCC in March 2008 and is responsible for managing the operations for the sustainability and greening plan for the 2008 Democratic National Convention.

Jaime Nack is one of Los Angeles' leading environmental consultants and marketing strategists, having produced and promoted a variety of the city's most prominent and widely-attended events over the last 13 years. Ms. Nack's extensive experience in event production includes producing several large-scale conferences and festivals that have attracted more than 100,000 attendees. As President of Three Squares Inc., a sustainability consulting firm, Ms. Nack works with clients to green their events, operations and communication strategies.  Prior to founding Three Squares, she served as Director of Events & Marketing for an environmental consulting firm in Santa Monica, CA.  She coordinated all marketing and media outreach efforts for the firm, focusing on the alternative fuel vehicle industry, clean transportation projects, and environmental port initiatives.  Ms. Nack was responsible for directing several conferences and expos, including the premier conference series in North America showcasing solutions to reduce emissions from port-related activities with events in Los Angeles, Seattle and New York.  In addition, Ms. Nack organized local, state and federal public affairs outreach activities on behalf of industry associations promoting the use of zero-emission, alternative fuel and clean vehicle technologies.

Ms. Nack also has extensive experience working with local city governments including the City of Santa Monica, City of Beverly Hills and City of Los Angeles.  Ms. Nack has organized environmental events such as Heal the Bay's Coastal Cleanup Day, the largest volunteer beach clean-up event in the state.

Ms. Nack has a Master's degree in Public Policy/International Trade from the University of California at Los Angeles, where she also earned her Bachelor's degree in International Economics with a minor in Urban Planning. She has served as a member of the American Association of Port Authorities’ Public Relations Committee and Harbors, Navigation and Environment Committee.  She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Westside Special Olympics.

Volunteers / Interns

The DNCC Green Team includes a cadre of volunteers and interns dedicated to carrying out the mission of greening the 2008 Democratic National Convention.  From college students to local community members, the efforts of these team members are critical to the overall success of the green initiative.  Volunteer training will continue to take place up until the Convention week when over 800 volunteers will assist with the waste diversion efforts.
